You are tired, busy and know deep down you have to eat healthy but couldn't be bothered.
Don't dismay, we have put together a simple yet very healthy omelette on toast recipe that you can whip up in no time.
Gone are the days where mum stays home to look after the day to day runnings of the family. She now has to look after the family and take on a job to help pay the bills - or keep or mind stimulated. So when it comes to providing lunches for the kids to take to school the canteen is becoming a popular daily food outlet providing up to a third of the food some children eat in a day.
But are the foods they get from the canteen causing them harm?
When I got married and had my own "home" for the first time - I realised I had no idea what routine I should have to clean the house. So, I visited my mum, Mrs Annette and she came out with the goods. Below is the routine I started with and over time tweaked it to fit my lifestyle.
Note: the times are a guide only, you can change the timing to suit you.
We managed to still do our weekly walk even though it was 39 degrees! So after Ms J took the plunge and experienced a few RSVP eclectic dates, the topic for the day was articulating what the "perfect" man for Ms Jennifer would be. I have often said I know exactly what she needs (not that she agrees with me) but nevertheless, after lots of "perving" (by Ms J) on the walk this week, I have put together a list of what I think the ideal man for Ms J would be:
Making the most of your own Personal Style is one of the key ways to own your look and embrace the Power of Dressing with Intention.
To determining one’s personal style it is important to recognise what style makes you feel happy, fits your lifestyle and goals and ultimately what suits your personality, the outer reflection of the inner you!
Anyone heard of bis-phenol A (BPA)? It's a chemical used in the plastics industry and is found in products like some drink bottles, babies bottles, some plastic food containers and in the inside coating of tin cans. In recent studies using rats, the chemical has been linked to many health problems and even obesity.
BPA is an endocrine disruptor meaning that it can act like a hormone in the body and cause changes in hormonal regulation of the body's functions. The Canadians have banned the use of BPA in the food industry in severe precautions. Australian authorities from Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) say that the levels we are exposed to are not high and we shouldn't be alarmed. They also say that the amount of BPA used in the research was far greater to the levels we are exposed to in everyday living and that duplicated research in primates did not result in the same effect.
Just another reason to stay away from pre-packaged commercial foods and get back into the fresh stuff I say.
Will you be changing your food purchases? Let us know.
So here we are into another year. The traffic is beginning to return and your at your whits end trying to come up with new ideas to occupy those kids before school returns next week. Well why not get them into the kitchen and start getting inspired for school lunch boxes.
Primary school days are where your child appreciates the lunchbox and what gets put in it. It isn't until year 5 and 6 where the lunchbox becomes 'uncool' and the canteen rules. But what should you be putting in it to keep your kids growing strong and healthy?
Stick to the food groups and keep it safe!
Just recently the Federal Government identified PCOS - poly cystic ovarian syndrome, as a condition in need of attention. This condition is close to my heart as I am one of the 10% of the female population who happens to suffer from it.
If you have been diagnosed you will know that symptoms can vary considerably from person to person. There is no one diagnostic criterion that pin points PCOS. It isn’t until you have multiple tests done that the medics will diagnose it. Read on...
Another week and another walk dedicated entirely to one topic - Ms Jennifer's date to someone she met via her RSVP trial. This was her first date with (let's call him) Mr. D and it wasn't long before I realised that I had failed in my duties as a best friend for she broke most of the First Date Rules that all women should know. Now for those who don't know what they are - I have listed them below (detailing with ones Ms Jennifer passed and failed).
So after the 3hr RSVP registration saga in part one, I'm now in business - receiving 'kisses' from strange men. Somehow all I can think is - this is sooo wrong, but I'm excited. Out I go onto the balcony, coffee in hand and I start clicking on the profiles of each and every man who sent me a kiss message like...
